Government Leaders' Roundtable

Session Details
The "Government Leaders' Roundtable" session will provide a platform for promoting discussion and strengthening collaboration in Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) among high-level policy makers in the region. VPET plays an important role in nurturing the necessary manpower to support the growth of a society. With the theme of "Partnership, Enterprise and Innovation", the participating senior-level government leaders will share their views, insights and unique experiences in steering the development of VPET. The sharing will bring a great deal of benefits to all participants who can learn about the leadership challenges and best practices. This will be an invaluable opportunity to build partnership, expand connectivity and stimulate new ideas on the subject among countries and in the community at large.

Higher Education Leaders' Roundtable: Development and Priorities of Higher VPET Education Institutions

Session Details
The session will provide a platform for higher education leaders to discuss challenges facing the higher VPET education sector. While each of these challenges will require modifications for institutions to deliver quality VPET, they also offer opportunities for enhancing VPET so that it can be responsive to the changing needs of industries and markets. The higher education leaders will share their insights on priority of development, discuss the ways to bridge the gap between visioning and strategic planning for future development and provide advice to different stakeholders in order to uphold the quality of VPET through research and practice.

Session Details
The session will provide a knowledge sharing platform between experienced industry professionals, local and overseas STEM students. Through direct interactions, panelists will share the importance of STEM education in fulfilling changing needs of industries and markets, essential STEM elements for business success and recommendations for young people in becoming an entrepreneur. Challenges facing various industries of Hong Kong, the opportunities and advantages of STEM students in contributing to these industries will also be discussed.
